Got a question for Jerry?

Birth date:

May 28, 1964

Family:

Jennifer and I have been married for 22 years and she is, next to Jesus Himself, the great joy and blessing of my life. God has blessed us with three kids that bring us great joy; Zach is 16, Jonna is 13, and Parker is 7. We have one dog, Lucy (a little Yorkey Poo) and a snake (Ralph) that lives in Zach’s room that I don’t like to think about.

My Role at Firewheel Church:

Vision casting and speaking in our worship times

What excites me about Firewheel Church:

Our people are genuinely excited and expectant about what Father is doing here.

My desire for Firewheel Church Is:

That we would remain open to the leadership of God’s Holy Spirit and not limit what He desires to do through us.

My Life Verse:

My favorite passage from the New Testament is Philippians 2:5-11. My life verse that pertains to God’s call on my life is Psalm 78:72.

What am I reading:

I have about ten books that I’m reading through right now — one thing I’m digging into recently is the Jewish roots of Christianity. I’m reading some works by Brad H. Young who taught at Hebrew University, Jerusalem. My friend and missions mentor, Sam Ingrassia, turned me on to this author.

My current favorite Artist/Band:

I really love the shuffle feature on my iPod, so how much space does this web page have? Stop me sometime in the gym and I’ll let you scroll through my artist list — they all are my favorites or I wouldn’t have them on my iPod!

My current favorite song:

I want to give you three of my favorites that are not played on the radio — but they really minister to me: “Come for Me” by Charlie Hall from the Flying into Daybreak recording; “Still” by Hillsong from the Hope recording (Disc 1); “You Never Let Go” by Matt Redman from the Everything Glorious, Passion recording

My current favorite movie:

Okay, even though we’re asked to update this I’m still going with my Elf story. Here’s the condensed version: In Waco (my hometown) we saw Elf with David Crowder. Yes, what that really means is that he happened to be at the same theater at that particular show time (he was right behind me getting popcorn).

My current favorite restaurant:

Yes, I confess, that change is very difficult for me. Fogo de Chao is still my favorite even though going there is a very rare occasion. Again, like I said last time I did one of these little nifty questionnaires – get the lemonade (trust me).

Sometimes I wonder:

What it’s really going to be like to spend forever with Jesus in the eternal state. Randy Alcorn’s book Heaven was pretty cool to read and think about — but that’s really what it does, gets you thinking even more about one day seeing Jesus (with our own physical eyes) and worshiping passionately at His feet. This makes me very excited!

I like to chill out by:

Watching funny movies. I mean really funny movies. You know the kind that gets you laughing so hard that you are crying and your side begins to hurt and you can’t stop, so your face just gets wetter and your side gets even more sore. Makes me smile thinking about it. I love laughing with my family and friends — our kids keep us laughing, they are a pretty funny bunch to be with each day. I also love going out with close friends — two or three couples and just acting silly and laughing our heads off. Do you get the idea that I like to laugh? I like to play golf (ask some folks — it fits well into the “laughable” category as well).
